A three-component Calabrian botanical complex combining bergamot extract, wild Cynara cardunculus and bergamot albedo fiber, standardized to ≥17% total polyphenols and ≥5% cynaropicrin for liver and cardiometabolic formulations.
Bergacyn® FF brings the three components behind the Bergacyn® research concept into one finished ingredient: concentrated bergamot, wild cardoon and bergamot albedo fiber. The result is a convenient formulation option for brands that want the extract-to-fiber relationship associated with the published clinical research without building the system from separate ingredients.
Why it matters: The clinically relevant extract-to-fiber architecture is already built into a single ingredient.
In a 12-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, the bergamot-cardoon-fiber formulation produced greater changes than placebo across body weight, BMI and Controlled Attenuation Parameter (CAP), a non-invasive measure used to assess liver steatosis.
Reported changes were −4.2 kg in body weight, −1.6 in BMI and −48.2 dB/m in CAP, compared with −2.7 kg, −0.9 and −26.9 dB/m with placebo.
Why it matters: Direct human data links the three-component formulation with liver steatosis and healthy weight outcomes.
A separate 16-week clinical study compared placebo, bergamot extract, Cynara cardunculus extract and the combined research formulation. The combined arm produced the largest measured changes across several markers associated with oxidative balance and vascular inflammation.
Among the reported endpoints, GPx increased by 25.9 U/mL, while MDA decreased by 1.41 nmol/mL and TNF-α by 28.5 pg/mL in the combined group. The study also evaluated endothelial function, extending the research beyond conventional liver markers.
Why it matters: The clinical evidence extends Bergacyn® FF beyond liver steatosis into oxidative and cardiometabolic wellness.
A 2022 clinical analysis of 94 participants examined serum uric acid alongside body weight and liver-related metabolic parameters in adults receiving the bergamot-cardoon-fiber formulation or placebo.
The active group showed a more favorable uric-acid response, with the largest effect among participants beginning with higher values. In the highest-baseline subgroup, the adjusted reduction was approximately 7.8%.
Study note: The published human studies shown in this section evaluated bergamot + wild cardoon + bergamot-derived fiber research formulations. Bergacyn® FF incorporates this three-component extract-to-fiber architecture within a single commercial ingredient. Findings should be interpreted in the context of the specific formulations, doses, populations and protocols used in the published studies.

Bergacyn® FF brings concentrated botanical actives and bergamot fiber into one composition designed around the relationship between liver metabolism, healthy weight and cardiometabolic wellness.
Bergacyn® FF simplifies the Bergacyn® research architecture by combining the concentrated extracts and bergamot fiber into one standardized free-flowing ingredient.
Bergacyn® FF is positioned as a complete botanical complex for healthy liver function and cardiometabolic wellness, with the bergamot fiber component already incorporated into the ingredient. Its strongest application is in liver-focused products that want to connect healthy liver fat metabolism with body weight and broader metabolic health while remaining close to the botanical composition used in the published clinical program. For brands seeking a single-ingredient route to the Bergacyn® research architecture, FF provides the most direct option in the portfolio.
Bergacyn® FF is a three-component botanical complex containing 50% bergamot albedo fiber, 25% Calabrian bergamot extract and 25% Cynara cardunculus extract. It is standardized to at least 17% total polyphenols and 5% cynaropicrin.
FF means Free Flow. It does not mean fiber free. In fact, bergamot albedo fiber makes up 50% of the formulation.
Bergacyn® is the concentrated 50:50 bergamot-and-cardoon extract system. Bergacyn® FF contains that extract system at 50% of the formula and incorporates bergamot albedo fiber as the remaining 50%.
The published research used a bergamot-cardoon extract system together with bergamot-derived fiber. Bergacyn® FF incorporates those components in the corresponding extract-to-fiber relationship within a single ingredient.
