A full-spectrum Calabrian citrus bergamot ingredient combining 38% standardized flavanones with pectin and vitamin C, backed by dedicated human research in healthy weight and metabolic wellness.
Bergamonte® Full Spectrum brings a different perspective to weight management: one that recognizes the relationship between body weight, glucose regulation, lipid metabolism and overall metabolic function. Its dedicated research makes that broader approach practical for modern product development.
A dedicated 90-day randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study evaluated the pectin-enriched BPE-C formulation at 650 mg/day and 1,300 mg/day. Within the same clinical protocol, researchers measured body weight and BMI alongside cholesterol, triglycerides, fasting glucose, Atherogenic Index of Plasma, insulin sensitivity and metabolic hormones, providing a broad view of weight and metabolic outcomes.
After 90 days, body weight decreased from baseline by approximately 10.0% with 650 mg/day and 14.8% with 1,300 mg/day.
BMI decreased by approximately 10.0% and 15.9%, respectively. The higher-dose group produced the strongest overall response, while the study reported significant changes across the weight-related endpoints.
Why it matters: Direct human data gives healthy weight formulations a clear, clinically grounded positioning point.
BPE-C produced dose-related changes across the cholesterol profile. From baseline, total cholesterol decreased by 23.7% and 28.4%, LDL-C decreased by 30.4% and 41.4%, and HDL-C increased by 10.9% and 26.4% at 650 and 1,300 mg/day, respectively.
Why it matters: Changes across LDL-C, HDL-C and total cholesterol provide broader lipid support from a single ingredient.
BPE-C also produced dose-related changes in triglycerides and fasting glucose. Triglycerides declined from baseline by approximately 27.1% and 31.9%, while fasting glucose declined by approximately 12.1% and 18.0% in the low- and high-dose groups.
Atherogenic Index of Plasma, calculated from the relationship between triglycerides and HDL-C, also changed significantly after 90 days. Mean AIP decreased from approximately 0.45 to 0.27 at 650 mg/day and from 0.46 to 0.19 at 1,300 mg/day, with a significant difference between the two BPE-C groups.
Why it matters: AIP brings triglycerides and HDL-C together in one meaningful measure of lipid balance.
BPE-C also produced a dose-dependent reduction in HOMA-IR, a measure used in the study to estimate insulin resistance. Mean HOMA-IR changed by −7.2% at 650 mg/day and −18.1% at 1,300 mg/day. The study additionally reported decreases in leptin and ghrelin and increases in adiponectin following supplementation.
Why it matters: HOMA-IR and metabolic hormone data add depth to weight-management and metabolic wellness positioning.
Study note: The published 90-day trial evaluated the pectin-enriched BPE-C formulation at the stated doses. Forty-five participants completed the intervention, with 15 participants per group. Findings are specific to the studied formulation, doses, population and clinical protocol and should not be generalized to other Bergamonte® ingredient variations.

The BPE-C clinical program examined weight-related outcomes alongside the metabolic changes that often accompany them, providing a practical foundation for formulas intended to address healthy weight as part of overall metabolic health.
Bergamonte® Full Spectrum combines authentic Calabrian bergamot with a defined five-flavanone profile, pectin, vitamin C and dedicated human research, giving formulators a clearly differentiated ingredient with a strong scientific and technical foundation.
Bergamonte® Full Spectrum occupies a distinct position between a conventional bergamot ingredient and a traditional weight-management active.
Its dedicated clinical research allows healthy weight management to serve as the primary product claim territory, while its bergamot-based composition creates natural relevance to broader metabolic wellness.
Bergamonte® Full Spectrum BPE-Complex® is a standardized ingredient derived from authentic Citrus bergamia Risso. It combines 38% standardized bergamot flavanones with pectin and vitamin C, creating a broader bergamot matrix for healthy weight and metabolic wellness formulations.
The Full Spectrum designation reflects the intentional inclusion of components beyond the concentrated flavanone fraction alone. Bergamonte® Full Spectrum combines its characteristic five-flavanone profile with pectin and vitamin C, providing a broader composition derived around the bergamot fruit.
Yes. A published randomized, double-blind human study evaluated the pectin-enriched BPE-C formulation over 90 days, measuring body weight, BMI, cholesterol, triglycerides, fasting glucose, Atherogenic Index, insulin sensitivity and metabolic hormones.
The clinical study evaluated 650 mg/day and 1,300 mg/day of BPE-C. Both levels are relevant to the published evidence, with the 1,300 mg/day group generally producing the stronger overall response across the endpoints examined.
